FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I get the card?

You can take the test with one of our technicians at any Sharma Climbing center the first time you visit the gym.

To ensure your safety and that of others, the card is personal and non-transferable, and it must always be visible while climbing (on the harness).

How much does the test cost?

Nothing, it’s a completely free test to check the climber’s skills with the equipment.
It’s a test, not a climbing course. If you wish, you can check the climbing courses offered at each center.

Do I have to repeat the same test every time I go to Sharma Climbing centers?

No, unless you lose your card of the corresponding color.

What belaying devices can I use at Sharma Climbing?

At our facilities, you can only belay with the Grigri (1, 2, 2 renewed, and plus).

What rope should I use to climb at Sharma Climbing?

Ropes must be at least 50m long, certified for single rope use, and have a diameter compatible with the Grigri.

Is helmet use mandatory?

In the autobelay area, it is not allowed due to the risk of getting stuck and hanging from it. In the top rope and lead climbing areas, it is highly recommended but not mandatory.

Can I use headphones while climbing?

No, you cannot use any device that isolates you audibly because in case of an emergency, everyone must have their hearing available to receive instructions, act, and/or help. You also cannot climb with anything that may fall, such as headphones, phones, etc.
